Farsyde House is a charming stone and pantile house with mullion windows set on Farsyde House Farm amidst spectacular coastal and country scenery.

The entrance is into the stone and half-glazed porch, with provision for wet coats and boots. This leads to the old front door with the Farsyde coat of arms , 1670 and family initials over it . It opens into the exposed old stone passage with kitchen leading off, then through an older doorway into the main hall leading to the living room , with open fire, oak floor and 15th-century beams . It has a large flat-screen tv, video and dvd player.

Next to the living room is the historic old panelled room which has an inglenook fireplace, salt and spice cupboards and a piano once owned by a famous pianist. There is also a tv in the panelled room along with books for adults and children, toys, games, jig-saws and hi-fi system.

The utility room is also off the hall and has a w.c. and hand basin, washing machine, cupboard and clothes hooks. The old staircase, brought from the chapel of another house owned by the Farsydes in Yorkshire, leads from the hall to the galleried landing with bedrooms and house bathroom leading off.

The master bedroom has a large en suite with bath, basin, w.c. and a large corner shower and heated towel rail. A pretty mullion window is a feature... The porcelain floor tiles and fully-tiled walls complete the picture. The bedroom is large, with a king-size bed and a single bed under the Yorkshire casement window . The opposite sash window overlooks a partial sea view.

The lovely old panelled second bedroom has a king bed and a single bed with a second pull-out bed. A period fireplace and cupboards are in place. Another great view from the large mullion window and a patchwork quilt give a timeless image. The small third bedroom has a view across the gardens towards the moor. All the bedrooms have Egyptian cotton sheets and towels and both bathrooms have toiletries, toilet rolls and tissues . Each large bedroom has tv and a hair-dryer. Next to the small bedroom is the house bathroom with large bath and shower over,, w.c. and washbasin. It is fully tiled and has porcelain floor tiles and a heated towel rail.

The large fully- equipped beechwood kitchen downstairs has many cupboards and a large table. There is a period sideboard, an old stone fireplace and an ancient stone basin now used for plants etc . The house garden is private, enclosed and gated, and has a proliferation of garden furniture, including loungers There is a feature rosebed, ancient apple trees and a beech hedge.

In addition to the open fire, there is central heating in all rooms, backed up with storage heaters permanently in use in cold weather in the reception rooms ,so that the house is ready for guests at all times, including last-minute bookings. Short breaks when available are offered.

Farsyde House has been appraised by an architectural historian who was extremely interested in its many facets, virtually unchanged over the years and which he described as a "genteel" house. It certainly is a house with a happy atmosphere and we welcome children of all ages. However, we do ask that particular care be taken by all guests, bearing in mind its English Heritage Grade 2 * status and its gold award from Enjoy England for its presentation.

No smoking or pets are allowed in the house or garden.
